Hello
How can I collapse the color layer stack? Using the nodes(It’s not a material, it’s stored in the vertex channel somewhere.) Another way?
When I import to another software only the first channel shows…bummer

Bake to a new image texture set to UV, then bake back to vertex color?
Ya, I guess, I just noticed it will let me paint layer 01 and carry over to the next layer. Where I can then “add” another color and it can be changed without affecting layer 01 but it’s the visual added of 2 colors instead of a solid color…I will try the baking another day…
Okay so in cycles the layers can be viewed by adding the attributes to the output.
…and shake n bake!
Another node network has to be made in Blender Render’s nodes. Then baked to texture. I baked a texture back to vertex for a test. A little brighter because of shadeless?..but not bad! That wasn’t fun but I picked up some baking! I’m not sure I will go that process, but I know the option is there now.
*May as well paint texture then bake to vertex!!
That’s right I just seen this the other day by CodemanX

I just used a simple little script yesterday. It would generate random colors allow to paint and generate again and the painted layer would stay. Maybe the answer is there lol
