Viewport Error?

Hi can someone explain why this is occurring…it seems the more I zoom out the more I’m able to see through the mesh when in perspective mode. Not sure whether it has to do with the scale or view-port lens setting but its kinda annoying. Btw the view-port lens setting is at 35mm.
