Viewport rotation all screwed up.

Anyone know why this has happened? Even if I focus on a mesh by pressing the “delete/.” on my numpad, I can’t get it to rotate correctly around the mesh.
I’ve tried changing the pivot and transformation orientation but it doesn’t help.
Any ideas?

Pivot and transform orientation only affect the object transformations, not the viewport rotation. Put the view to some of the known views, such as front view (numpad_1), that should help.

I could’ve sworn I did that and it didnt work, before posting. I think Im losing my mind.
