Viewport showing textures, but render is not

When I render the textures are not showing. I tried reloading them, tried messing with the render layers. I even appended all my stuff to a fresh .blend and attempted to render, but textures still wouldn’t show. The funny part is their showing up in textured view and in the game engine. They are even updating when I save a new one!

I included a screenshot of the textures showing in textured mode… then not showing in the render. I hope someone can help me, or I will be forced to destroy planet earth with my mind powers.

have you mapped the texture to colour?
it should look like this:

I had a similar problem, the texture showed in the 3d view but not when rendered. In my case there were two materials applied to the object, one blank and one with the texture. It looked like the blank material was applied to the object but the tuextured material wasn’t but it still showed up in the viewport. Deleting the blank material made the texture show up in the render.

just because it’s uvmapped, doesn’t mean that it’s linked to the material. In the material/texture tab, make sure you have a texture slot with the image loaded, set to UV layout (instead of say obj coord), and linked to color, as in first reply.

On the render tab or output tab (F10) there is a button that will specifically cause the render to omit the textures. I think it’s labeled “Textures”. Disable the button.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

I of course have done this. If I hadn’t linked the materials, then they wouldn’t be showing in the game engine but they indeed are. My material is linked to my object, my object has the correct image texture linked to it, and its mapping through uv coordinates.

I can’t find this button. There’s a textures button in the baking panel, but obviously that’s for baking textures. Could you tell me more specifically where it is perhaps? As I said I tried to append all the stuff in my scene to a brand new .blend with all the defaults, but its worth a shot.

It’s on the output tab, labeled “Disable Tex”.

dude… HALLELUJAH!!! That did the trick. This rocks. You guys rock. You rock rambobaby. Blenderartists is the only forum where 100% of my technical issue threads get solved within two days.

Next time you try appending disable the “Load UI” button on the append window’s header.

Hi, I still couldn’t find the output tab. Can someone please help me? I have the exact same issue and had been trying to solve for a day.
