Vikings in a Storm

I create this short animation in Blender using some nice and easy tools in blender. My goal it was exploring how we can get a scene like this without fluid physics calculations!

I create the Wind with the Windy addon, and to render some elements apart to a better composition later i use the Render Tools addon and for the 3d rain i use the Barga Rain Generator.

Here is the project timelapse tutorial of this scene: https://youtu.be/OxBHMCO6oig

This video is really excellent. I reduced the playback speed on youtube to 50% and, in my opinion, it is infinitely more realistic. Just a thought.

True dat. It feels like he didn’t work at scale and thus the boat’s movements appear to that of a toy boat. Or just bad keyframing and/or no physics used. Imho. Also, it should be pointed out that lightning produces huge bright flashes that often last one or two frames and brighten everything (and create stark shadows etc) for miles around…

@paddywwoof thanks, by the way, the original speed is 25 frame rate! i change it by increase it using flowframes to 48 to test the flowframes software also, but yes you are right in the natural frame rate is much more realistic.
