Hi! I’d like to present to you set of images for project Villa am Heiterwanger Weg of Lindner Planungsbüro.
Project of villa is located in green and quiet part of Berlin. The main challenge of visualisations was to bring to modern, symmetrical form of the building, continuity to the nature and surroundings. behance.net/gallery/156016503/Villa-am-Heiterwanger-Weg

Absolutely stunning, if you don’t mind can I ask how you got such nice soft light in interior specially in the 2 images with kitchen, whenever I try interior lighting I always get those strong sunrays which is something I wanna avoid
Thank you!
Interiors are quite new for me, because I’m specialised in exterior shots, so my method is still in development. For sky I’m using simple JPG exported from HDRI as a world setting (the reason is, because HDR 32 bit contains sun information, so to “delete” the sun, I’m exporting 8bit file from it in PS) and I’m mixing it with blender’s sun (with 1-2 degrees angle for nice shadows). In windows I’m placing big light areas with a lamp for lighting the interior a bit more.
With that light setup I’m starting playing with exposure to set exact amount of light inside and I’m adjusting sun/world/area lights to match everything good together.
okay I’m a bit confused but, do you mean you import a 32 bit HDR and export as 8 bit HDR JPG to remove sun data and use it with sun + sky
and near windows you mean you use area lights which aren’t actually there but it gives nice lighting ?
I’ve tried tons of things till now and closest I could get was to use single area light and even that didn’t looked as good as the lighting yours has
Yeah, sorry, sometimes when I’m trying explain something easy I’m messing with it even more xd
For the lighting I’m using 8bit JPG (because it doesn’t contains sun information) and that is for reflection, ambient light etc. But as a main light I’m using regular blender’s sun. So in this case I have a nice information for reflection - from the hdri, and an easy to adjust light source, for shadows and highlights - blender’s sun.
But for even better interior illumination I’m placing area lights at the place where are windows to bring some lights to the interior even more.
If you would just use, for example, one, big area light with the size of the window, you would receive good illuminated interior but with very flat shadows.
I made vertex group of the border of scatter plane in the scatter addon, and I distributed regular grass clumps everywhere except the border, where I distributed single grass models (extracted from clumps). The effect of it was quite nice, but despite that, I made some PS retouches here and there to make it even nicer!
Thanks!
