Visibility of particles (vapour) through glass


I am working on this project where I require to simulate vapours rising through a glass cylinder. The problem is that the particles arent visible through the glass.

Could someone please help me out on this. Is it a problem with a material of glass or the particle system?

The default rendering of particles is with Halos, and they don’t work with Raytracing.

The best option for something like this is still in development as part of 2.50 … Volumetric rendering.

Or use billboards for your particles and you can apply whatever image map you like.

Have you tried out these smoke effects?

Maybe one of these will work behind glass.
