Hey everyone and a good day to you.
Recently I started a thread asking how I could achieve a dry desert ground using bump mapping - but a good Blender user pointed me in the good direction of the Displacement modifier. So I did research and found some links about displacement modifier but the most interesting was one in which a voronoi-crackle texture was used to display the use as a displacement modifier.
( This is the link to the manual page :
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/Displace_Modifier ) .
So I studied the displacement modifier used in the sample blend file and I managed to understand how to apply the Voronoi texture and achieve a fairly large desert ground. But what I didn’t understand is the presence a cloud texture as on the overall image. Without it the image is not as good. I have included a picture of a side by side comparison of an image with the cloud texture applied and the other without. The image on the left has the cloud texture included as a displace modifier and the image on the right without the cloud texture included as a displace modifier.
( The image is in the post immediately after this post. ) .
