Wan't to help with blender 2.5 development?

If you are interested in helping find bugs in blender 2.5 and reporting them, you can follow these easy steps…

  1. Go to http://www.graphicall.org/builds/ and download the latest 2.5 build of blender, make sure it is of type “BF” (Blender Foundation)

  2. Use the new version and see if you come across any bugs, MAKE SURE that they are bugs and not just something the blender team has not finished developing yet. If you wan’t to see whats currently under development, go to http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderDev/Blender2.5/Todo. Missing shortcut keys are not necessarily bugs because in the new version, allot of shortcuts have changed.

3.If you find a bug and you know for sure that it is a bug, go to http://projects.blender.org/ and create an account. Once created go back to the main page and click on “Blender bug tracker”. From there you can post your bug along with a description, you system specs, and a .blend file if necessary. If your bug is plausible, then the blender team might assign it to one of their developer to fix.

Happy Blending!

Maybe a moderator could make this thread a sticky?

Is there a list of “to do” features or something where we can doublecheck if it is a bug and not just something that hasn’t been implemented yet?

Yes, there is: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderDev/Blender2.5/Todo

Thanks nicholas I didn’t know that. It’s great that people will be helping find bugs, it will speed up development.
