Water snake

The snake itself could seriously benefit from a good custom texture (done in texture paint mode after doing a good UVmap).

The reason why is that snakes usually have a different scale pattern on the head and the texture on the sides of your snake is stretched.

There’s also the possibility of modeling an actual array of scales, but doing it as a texture (which can then be displaced) allows one to be more non-destructive and allows for faster changes.

Ace Dragon, first of all, thank you for check this project! The biggest problem for me is the texturing time. Could you tell me some tutorial about texturing in Cycles? I really don’t hold the techniques. I don’t know how to use texturing paint and i’m confusing with the UV’s function. I just use the node editor and the image texture, puting some bump for deep appearence, nothing far than this, so the result is that, a terrible texture. I really appreciate if you could point me for some tutorial. Thank you sir! =D
