Water Tower

Hmmm… Blender can render an image in “tiles,” but I suppose that wasn’t doing it for you?

This image would be a pretty good candidate for a compositing based workflow, too …

You can do more than this with less than this …

So sundialsvc4, if I understand right you didn’t like it. But you forgot to tell me what is it you don’t like about the image. I am pretty sure that Blender is rendering in tiles by default in my computer too. But however good the code of Blender is I doubt that it can make my 1GB RAM to transform into 8GB. Anyway, you said: “You can do more than this with less than this …”. Can you please point me to some artists that do good stuff with old PC’s (preferably to WIP threads or even better to tutorials) so I can study them and learn? Thank you in advance.

If Blender is rendering in tiles then “Save Buffers” and subsequently “Full Sample” will be on in the output dock.

Cheers,
John

Hah I got it!
“in May 2002 Ton Roosendaal started the non-profit Blender Foundation.”
hard to believe blender is not even an adolescent. Rock on Ton.

Kudos to you walshlg! You got it right.
I bet not even Ton could have imagine how big Blender would become in only a few years after those first baby steps. Now we can all afford and enjoy top quality 3d software.

I’m afraid in a little while this Water tower will not be sufficient for the needs of the evergrowing population of our beloved Blenderville :).

Thanks for sharing it,
