Hey guys,
does anyone know of an easy technique to create a wax dripping effect on a candle that has been burning for a while.
if you need a example here it it is.I won’t be needed it that pronounced, my candle is quite thick, but you get what i mean.
Many thanks,
Sam
1 - may be with fluid sim but difficult i guess
but if you make the viscosity high it might do the trick but nort certain at all!
2- you could simulate mesh with volume

Personally I like to model it out of cylinder, and apply Subdivide Surface modifier to make it smooth. Here is quick example:
But you can Sculpt it too.

Both replies above are perfect.
Do you want to model the affect, or would you like it animated?
If you would like it animated, would you like
the flame flickering on the candle to be animated
or
the candle melting to be animated
well if you want a moving candle’s flame ?
ther eis a model working for this already
let me know i’ll find the link for it
but this does not make the melting candle around !

thanks everyone for their replies.
I just wanted model of the candle dripping. And i’ve got it! (see I’m Sorry for the result)
no animation required. (not yet, anyway)
Thanks,
Sam
