Weight Painting Trouble

I’ve been having a slight problem while I’ve been weight painting a character of mine. When I go into weight paint mode, the part of the mesh that is facing the camera is black, and only the rims are visible as dark blue. This makes weight painting very difficult because I can’t see what I’m doing.
Any help would be appreciated.


What viewport shading are you using? It looks like it might be set to ‘Textured’ with GLSL, in which case switch it to ‘Solid’.


Try applying scale and rotation with Ctrl A in object mode ( Scale and Rotation to ObData ) you possibly have a negative scale value

That’s the first thing I checked. I figured it would be on ‘shaded’ It was on solid though,
