To all Windows-users: Why don’t you just post your background-images only? :stuck_out_tongue:

Mine is coming! compiling latest xorg with Xcomposite-yumyum

You’re not making a Mac OS X interface for Blender are you? Looks nice if you are :D. Also, I don’t know if you knew this but for a quick screen capture you can use shift-command-3 for fullscreen and shift-command-4 for selection box. I think default save is pdf but you can change to png in preview.

U have some nice apps there Nathan, its funny how blender is still there; came back i see, lol. I tried to crack Maya unlimited once but couldn’t get it. Do you like it? Does it have many more better features then Blender?

By the way, I am on the Alienware mailing list (eventhough I don’t own an alienware comp) and I found this’ http://www.alienware.com/intro_Pages/aw_desktop_theme.aspx?source=170 It really makes ur desktop look awesome.

Time to update this thread a bit. Let’s see what is the desktop of this year:

“Show me your desktop, I’ll tell you who you are”

For me since sept 04 I switched to Gentoo Linux. Now Using Blender CVS builds, doing lotsa beta testing and doing a lot of projects. Also Blenderartists is up. I now have a dual screen setup and enjoy it a lot. I’m now listening to a song of “Les Cowboy Fringant - Le shack à Hector”, a group of Quebec. I keep myself connected to the Blender world by following various forums and showing up on various IRC channels.

Sheesh Fweeb, that resolution high enough for you? :stuck_out_tongue:

Or I have a few other backgrounds I like, but someone might lock me for spamming :Z

3200x1200 on two 21" monitors. And I got 'em at a great deal!. :Z There’s no turning back now. It’s part of the reason I can’t bring myself to switch to LCDs.

Ahaaah, desktop geeks!
I have a dual screen setup and the same image of Bjork for a couple of years now.
But can somebody explain how I can have two separate images on winXP?

BTW, Phrangkk.
That looks like win, how did you get that Mac OSX menu in there?

Also, anyone in here who experimented with Flash desktop possibilities?

BTW Fweeb, nice how you got that Doom-head on your desktop.
P

i still have the same one

If you don’t mind my asking: How much and where?

I don’t mind at all.

If it clears anything up, they’re both refurbs and I’ve had them for a few years. One is an IBM P260 that I picked up at a computer show (remember those things when they still had decent deals?) for around USD$150. The other is a SGI GDM-5411 that I got in a package deal with a GDM-W900 (24" widescreen CRT!) from a surplus warehouse in Ohio - I have a relative that works in one who told me about it. I paid $175 for both of those units, as well as a couple 15" CRTs. It works out well because both of the 21" monitors have nearly the same Sony Trinitron parts.

In both cases, I was able to check and test the monitor prior to purchase. Otherwise, I’da never done it.

my background. that useless stuff folder is ~4-5gb right now. surprisingly it has ALL my important files

my linux one is just the default fedora core logo thing

Nice, I was looking at getting matching 19" new CRTs (samsung…are they any good? Their LCDs I’ve seen are decent) at newegg.com, shipped for 375USD. I figure it like this: why get a single 30" Apple Cinema Display for 2 and half grand when I can get two 19" monitors that are much larger and much higher resolution together for only ~400USD? My only problem is that CRTs suck mad power.
