That’s the way I figured it. Money’s tight and I’d rather save my money up-front. Besides, if you’re worried about the power bill, you can always turn off and/or unplug your CRTs. I used to use mine to heat my old [small, windowless] studio apartment.
That sounds like a pretty rocking deal you’ve got lined up. I’ve never owned any Samsung monitors, but I haven’t heard bad things about them, so there’s something there. If you can find some matching models in a for-real store and play with them before buying the ones on newegg, I’d recommend it.
Mine is also pretty much the same as last time. Though this is on a different machine (12" ibook G4, as opposed to my Athlon box that died a year ago), and I’ve been using os x up until almost a week ago.
Mine hasn’t changed much, though I’ve gained a few desktop icons. They’re like rabbits --you can’t get rid of them fast enough. Though, I must admit, none of them would be there if I didn’t use them.
My current (using a standard RH/Gnome background)
I’ll probably change it soon to this one (another standard comes-with-the-os one, but I love it)
(The GunShop is an MS Access project I’m coding for a local retailer. Nothing weird. Sorry. )
[edit]Oh yeah, Mifune, I still think you ought to go to properies and change your desktop text colors to black on white. It’d look much better! IMHO.[/edit]
