Weird problem with particles and parenting

Hey guys, I ran into a weird little bug and it’s solution, but I was wondering if anyone knows WHY it’s happening? Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

I’m making an animation, but I’m still at the rigging stage. I have a tail with soft-body hair on it, and I’ve parented it to the armature. Now If I move the tail on it’s own, the hair stays attached and moves with it, but if I move the parent the hair stays where it was and won’t move along (and when animated it will “shoot over” to where the tail is now placed). This can be fixed by just clicking the tail manually and moving it and then cancelling the move, causing the hair to move to where it should and animate correctly.
Now, I don’t know if I’ll be able to use this fix during actual animation and that’s worrying me a bit… So does anyone know why it’s doing this? Or is it just a bug I’ll have to deal with?

Thanks guys

No one knows the answer? :frowning:
