What are these curious lines in my mesh?

Hello all, I just recently found a couple of lines outside my mesh that I cant explain. I know approximately what time they appeared, but I have no clue what I did to make them appear and I cant delete them in any way. They look mostly like a few edges gone astray. I have tried selecting them in all possible ways, but to no success. Anyone have a clue what they are and how I can get rid of them?

Thanks in advance for your help! I dont know if the lines actually make any difference, but I dont want to take the risk. And I rather know whats up with, and have control of, every inch of my mesh!

They are a seperate Object, notice the pink Object Center. Look for it in the Outliner window.

Not really knowing what you have done up to this point, one can only guess. At first glance, it would appear that it has it’s own object center. Try going out of edit mode into Object mode and select the center to see what happens. Also try going into your outliner and see if it comes up there as a seperate object. Since you are currently in edit mode with your base mesh and the anomolies don’t show any vertices, I doubt they are directly part of you model and therefore should be a seperate object. If this is the case, then it should show up in you outliner.

Thanks for the quick reply! Are you really possitive about that though? I mean… the only way I can select it is by using A to select everything, and it also moves when I move the skeleton to animate my mesh. I was thinking it has something to do with the odd way my mesh distorts at the shoulder, but Im quite a noob at this, so I might of course be wrong:

Im currently reading up on the Outliner window to see if it can help me, thanks for the tip.

Post the file if all else fails.

Well I was finally able to get rid of the lines, not in edit mode, but in object mode. It didnt change anything on my mesh though, so I guess it wasnt related after all. Or at least not in any sense that made a difference. And the shoulder animation is still as distorted as it was before, bugger it! Ill tamper with it some more, and if nothing works, Ill post a new thread about it in the proper forum.

Thanks everyone who has been giving me tips and trying to help, I very much appreciate it!
