What are/Where can I find some good tips/tutorials for NSFW modelling?

Let’s be real, a ton of people would make porn in Blender if there wasn’t some extra troubles trying to model more accurate human anatomy. I’ve been trying myself, and It seems alright, but I feel like I could be doing better. I just don’t know if there’s any good tutorials out there for this sort of thing, mainly because Youtube (The Holy Grail of Blender tutorials) doesn’t exactly allow NSFW content. Is there any place where those can be found?

You want to use Blender to create porn?

Well, there’s kind of a built-in natural barrier preventing that, it is called “skill”.
You might be able to get around the initial artistic barrier by using existing models, but you won’t get around the technical barrier of creating rigs allowing that kind of content easily, or the barrier of creating half-way decent animations without taking the long road any aspiring 3D artist has to take: learn that damn stuff.
It requires master level Blender skills to deal with those kinds of setups, character interaction with close and believable skin-skin contact, a straightforward youtube tutorial to teach you those lessons would keep you busy for a while alone by watching it, and watching alone won’t make you get it. Fortunately.

Because otherwise “3D artist” wouldn’t qualify as a profession any longer.

Gatekeeping much? Believe it or not humankind got this far by sharing knowledge with one another.

Sure, skill comes with time, but it comes with a lot less time when people cooperate. Life shouldn’t be a competition.

On a different side of things, the limitations can be used as an advantage. Because the modeling is very simple, because there just isn’t anything that is used for it. You might try looking around and see if you can find some program that might be dedicated to this type of art.

I don’t think you’ll find any tutorials for this kind of thing. Not sure why anyone with the skill to model this type of stuff would put a tutorial out on how model a bloke pitching a tent.

To sum up the skills necessary to this kind of stuff, you need a general knowledge of modeling, sculpting, shading, texturing, dressing, combing hair, and posing/animating.
For any of theese you can find lots of tutorials, you know which ones you need.

Moreover, there’s a skill you cannot learn by tutorials, that is that of giving natural and pleasant poses to the characters, and of giving them a fine look; but you can learn them also, if you are prone enough.

Nope, if OP really wants to go for what’s called “porn” these days, that is by far not sufficient. Anyone coming up with a list that short has never rigged or animated any character-character interaction involving mutual skin contact … despite close skin contact. At least not at a reasonable level of quality.
You’ll have to understand Blender’s rigging tools in depth as you’ll be dealing with a lot of constraints, you’ll have to use a lot of modifiers, you’ll learn a lot about dependency loops and how to avoid them … and you’ll curse some of Blender’s limitations. Admittedly, air starts to get thinner when it comes to tutorials in that regard. You’ll need to have acquired the skill to do your own research, put things together and find solutions of your own making.

This is nothing a tutorial can teach you - in fact, it is the very opposite of what tutorials will teach you.

Ah yes … and before I forget: better add simulations on top of that … all of them.

The nsfw animation community surrounding blender seems pretty open honestly. Lots of folks with patreons out there. You could always directly ask them for tips.

Heck, a few of them frequent Blender’s official community discord. They don’t post their nsfw stuff there of course, (anymore, it used to be small enough to where we didn’t care) but they’re around.

of course mi list could have been way longer, including shape keys, drivers, dynamic paint, and first of all Anatomy, but you didn’t get my point, that is in agreement with yours I think, i.e. there’s no need for specific tutorials but rather of great skill and practice.

Guess I should’ve made it more clear that I’m not starting from 0 here (See other stuff I’ve posted). I definitely feel like I have a good grasp on modelling at the very least, and I know the lengths I can go with most other stuff (despite me being too lazy to deal with that at this point, not entirely off the table though).

I was just hoping for a few extra tidbits to help me along, considering the NSFW details are always left out of Youtube content (tutorials and otherwise)

He´s being obligated to do porn. Not that he wants. Listen to this:

Let’s be real, a ton of people would make porn in Blender if there wasn’t some extra troubles

Clearly not doing it out of the love to software.
I´ve seen some nsfw mafias making people like him work for peanuts. Downgrading the value of Blender in the process.

I think it all comes down to the level at which you want to make it. Has it to be accurate? How much?
I see you have nice anatomy knowledge in your 2d drawings, the stylized ones, but it seems to be missing in your 3d universe. Closing that gap would be the first important step to take, in my opinion.
It has to be done investing time and with care, there’s no shortcut. As a 2d artist you know for sure that many concepts, like proportions for example, are just a simplification to get beginners started (being humans all different each other in the real world). The same in 3d: go for the easy/fast way and you get what you paid for. Invest time, be passionate, and you will learn. I let apart any taste-related stuff, it’s not important to me: there can be masterpieces in every possible branch. I think the genre is just a box, it can contain every kind of bad/good stuff.

Not sure if that’s the case. I’d personally love to do 3d porn. No mafia needed. I’m moderately sexually open, and It’s an insanely lucrative hustle. Insanely lucrative.

But in order to climb to such ranks, you have to develop notoriety, meaning you’d have to be well known as a porn guy, which screws up your prospects at doing non-porn stuff on a larger capacity. Only Zone and the production designer of Lilo and Stitch know the power of being able to flip back and forth. Your skills have gotta be really worth it to earn that kind of flexibility. For the rest of is, Once you’re locked in, you’re locked in. It can’t really be a side thing unless you’re really careful about concealing it. For some reason, sex is several times the taboo that violence is, so you’ll be excommunicated from your career, your family, and your friends if they find out you animate porn. And some god warrior will kill your dog.

Also the fact that documentation on blender features that aren’t super generic are pretty rare. Not a lot of “best practices” guides out there about weight painting with soft bodies on a skinned mesh and also making sure collision doesn’t make it absolutely wig the hell out. Or even hair physics. Things like that.

Personally I’d wait till mantaflow gets pushed to the main branch in 2.81 :stuck_out_tongue:

90% of NSFW modelling is the same thing as SFW modelling, you are going to be finding creative ways to embrace your limitations as you overcome them. Starting out, I would suggest looking at Daz studio and exporting models from there (or using them in Daz, if that is your thing). Your first goal is going to be able to make poses and animations that feel organic.

Dude, ignoring the subject you are essentially just making an animated short film. Judging by how few animators we have in the community I think that would probably be the hardest thing you will have to learn.

If you completely new to animating then don’t even bother with trying to learning how to animate humans start at the bottom with the bouncing ball, then the pendulum, ball with tail etc. And get yourself a copy of The Animator’s Survival Kit and put your nose to the grind stone.

Doesn’t sound like he is obligated, just wants to and is looking to gain more skills to allow him to do so?

After reading this I suddenly want to make some porn lol. If someone makes porn, they are lesser artists? There certainly is a lot of ART in the real world that offends conservative people. I’m sure Katsushika Hokusai, Rembrandt, and Andy Warhol would all have a lot to say about that subject if they were alive today. If you do a gallery stroll in your local art community, this is a good question to ask, “What’s the dividing line between porn and art?” You’ll probably want a couple glasses of wine in you before you ask it because nobody has the same answer. One man’s treasure is another man’s trash, and so I think Robert Poole’s question could have been handled with greater tact in the early comments.

I don’t think there are any good tutorials out there…yet, but NYL has some Wonderwoman…ish content made in Blender that is pretty amazing. Good lighting and materials as well as customized models and animation. Plenty of skin on skin contact. It isn’t like he/she is using collision or anything that would wreck that. I’m sure the graph editor is getting a workout but 3D porn is being done and done well with Blender. I think more people are using Maya to make porn as you might expect like Adeptus Steve (animates in Maya), who pulls in $88,738 a month (7.3.2020) on Patreon for his half developed video game. Also I’m sure Adeptus Steve and NYL are pseudonyms and it’s possible, that the same people could work a normal job if they so decided. Mind you, if I was making 89k a month, I would not have a second job.

Anyway, it would appear that NYL started with SFM but he/she now uses Blender. I checked and he/she is making $6147 a month and has 1941 followers on Patreon. All made possible by creating ‘porn’ in Blender.

…and, isn’t Blender Foundation headquartered in Amsterdam? I doubt very much that they care about porn.
