Oh cool… love Portnoy’s drumming.
I didn’t know him and was searching for quite a time for this kind of music. I love technical rock (virtuous), not too symphonic (I like gaps and dry production).
I first really noticed him after he took a break from Dream Theater and played on Avenged Sevenfold’s album, Nightmare, after which he quit DT. Recently, he teamed up with DT’s John Petrucci for his solo album, Terminal Velocity. ← highly recommended.
