Digital Artists works. It’s a shame MudBug Studios is taken, and on that note, I would stay away from using MudBug at all, no matter what you change the last part to.
I think it also depends on what you are doing. In general, I go with CG Artist. For some product renders, I’ll bill myself as technical illustrator. For doing pre-production renders (I work at a commercial display company, and we do renders before we build things) I’ll refer to myself as a previsualization specialist. It’s the wild west out there in title town, you can call yourself anything you can get away with.
Well, the name MudBug itself is pretty original as far as I know, so I personally would feel uncomfortable(and unoriginal) if I used it. It’s not exactly like “Smith” has been taken, and you are going to have to use Smith Digital, instead of Smith Studios. I suppose legally you would be able to get away with it, but I just wouldn’t do it. That’s just me of course, and I hope you get what I mean.
Oh okay, I got ya! Mudbug is slang for crawfish. If I could think of another name, I’d use it but I can’t think of anything. For now I’ll stick with MudBug.
At first I thought this thread was going to be something like “what is the name for a member of the Blender cult?” I’m pleasantly disappointed
As others have mentioned, it really depends what you do. Do you primarily animate? You’re an animator. Do you write tools? Developer. Model? Modeler. A little bit of everything? Dilettante. Er, I mean, “generalist.”
