what does F8 do?

What does F8 do?

The guide HERE http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_HotKeys/3D_View/Edit_Mode says
“F8 — switch Buttons Window to Shading Context, World Subcontext.” …but what happens is a little hourglass pops up. And I don’t know what it wants.

Anybody know where there’s an updated hotkey guide?

In the current version of blender F8 reloads scripts

F8 reloads all addons and scripts.

This says 2.70 which is more recent and mostly correct for latest versions.

user preference, input, 3d view is the latest hot key guide.
