i found ‘placeholder’ option in the output panel of the render tab, i don’t know what it is use for. can anyone help?
You can use multiple machines to render an image sequence from an animation from a single blend file to a common networked folder (or a servive like Dropbox) you can enable placeholders and disable overwrite exitsing frames. When a machine starts to render a frame it will create a placeholder file in the render output location, when the next machine starts a new frame it will see a frame is already there and becasue it is set to not overwrite that file will skip this and start rendering the next frame instead.
