It’s a .blend that I downloaded of a model that I want to animate and some of the items in the collections are marked as purple(see image above) and while they’re like that I can’t click on the icons in order to hide/unhide them like other meshes, so how do I fix this?

Did you try this?

Welcome to the forums…

If it is a model with extra hair, clothing, whatever else - then the visibility of them may be controlled by drivers and an interface panel. So deleting all the drivers is a bad idea.
Is there a control panel in the 3D window? On the side panel. In the Item Tab expand the Properties Panel… That is the controls area for your model… The control buttons use the drivers (the purple icons) to control the visibility of your new friends accessories. And controls the morphs - if any, and has some controls for the Armature Rig that is moving the model.

I assume This Video is the answers you need…
Enjoy.

Since you cited me directly and not “did you tried… what okidoki said”. I was assuming you are talking to me… and i already wondered about the question :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
