The road is made up by several individual objects. They all started out as separate objects. Then I merged them using “Ctrl + J” to get the alignment right. In the end, I separated the road system into 3 objects (“P”).
Two of the objects are fine. It’s only the third object (the main road) that causes this annoying effect.
(The attached filed contains part of the road system.)
So where on your mesh does this happen ?
Go and look at that position and seeif there is anything unusual there ?
You have holes in your mesh at various point do the fault match up with those ?
Thank you very much for you reply and for looking into this Yes there are some extra vertices on the intersections. But since I was going to separate the intersections from the rest of the road in the end (because I’m using a different texture set), I didn’t bother fixing it. Could that be the problem?
The vehicles fall through the road basically everywhere besides the intersections.
The intersections are two separate objects. The lane is one object. The edges are a second.
Then there’s rest of the road (one object). That’s where the problem is. On every single face. It’s almost like there’s no mesh there to prevent vehicles from falling through, only textures…
It all went back to normal when I separated the main road sections from the intersections… But being a Blender beginner I can’t tell you why it worked. Sorry.
