Blender becomes opensource project like the gimp there’s a HUGE following for blender out there already so it seems like the smartest thing to do right now.

ditto. I can spend years exploring all the capibilities in v.2.3. I can wait for Ton.
Yeah, although publisher would be nice, there’s probably enough in 2.23 to keep me busy for awhile.
