I recently wrote a script for rendering from home on my work computer. Works only with Yafray, but it’s still cool. Upon hitting F12, the yafray xml gets packed, copied over network, rendered and upon completion firefox window opens with final image. :-)).

Horrible 250W power supply that couldn’t handle my computer
Ugly Doris (Now):
AMD Athlon64 3500+ (Should’ve just gone with the 3200+, but it was only $30 more)
MSI K8N Neo2 Mobo (Built in damn near everything)
1 Gig of ram
Same hard drive
Same Geforce
OCZ Modstream 520W power supply that can handle my computer
My computer is not overly impressive… I was going to spend quite a lot of money on it and make it rather powerful. But then my priorities changed and the only reason I ended up building a new one was that my old one died… Anyway…
AMD Athlon64 2800+
512MB PC3200 RAM
80Gb SATA 150 HDD
Nvidia FX5200 or something graphics card… It’s like 128MB… Only cost me about $30
And it’s running Ubuntu 64.
Anyway, overall not a bad system considering it only ran me like $302.
I was going for cheap, but no way I’d have settled for a Sempron… I figure the cpu is what I’ll have the longest, might as well get something worthwhile. Athlon64 2800+s at Newegg
