I just noticed that I do not see the info that used to be at the bottom right of the Blender window that showed things like how many vertices or edges, etc, that are selected.

If you right click the bottom bar you can enable scene statistics and other things (memeory etc)
Or you can show the statistics as an overlay on the left hand side by enabling statistics in the overlay options.

No that is a new thing. The bottom bar also displays tool tips so sometimes statistics get in the way.
I usually use the overlay when I want to see them.
