Where is script folder located?

Hi,
Seems a ridiculous question but where is the (script) folder located or rather the scripts generally.
I am interested in getting brad running, on the brad site the following is mentioned

<<it is only necessary to copy the full content of the brad archive to the .blender/scripts/ directory, making sure that the file brad.py is in .blender/scripts/ among the other python scripts, and together with the additional brad folder containing the brad additional modules and libraries.>>

is it really a (. ) folder?

I am using 2.41 on OS X

Patrick

Blender.app/Contents/MacOS/.blender/scripts

Navigate to Blender.app, and right-click and show contents. Navigate into Contents/MacOS/. Hit Command+Shift+G and type “.blender/” (no quotes).

This comes up so much that you’d think someone would put a walkthrough on this in the wiki… What’s there is a might confusing.

Many thanks for that.

However, on launching Blender 2.41 (2.37 also) the exspected brad script was not visible and nor were the majority of other existing scripts.
I am contacting “brad” but what might the core of this problem be?

I installed brad by manually dragging required items into the script folder rather than using Terminal…I am not aware of any difference with end result.

If you have a .blender folder in your home folder, delete it. This screws with the one inside the app bundle for some odd reason.

If that doesn’t work you’ll have to provide more detailed information.

Could you do a file search for *.py to locate them?

If you don’t then like the location they have been put you can set your own Python Scripts location in user preferences.

bye

Hi,
kattkieru, first I double checked the scripts along with the brad items and there are all located… Blender.app/Contents/MacOS/.blender/scripts
About the .blender folder being in the home folder as far as I can make out there is not other than the following item…
-rw-r–r-- 1 patrickh admin 45232 29 Apr 2005 .B.blend
Is this related to Blender?
yellow, the *.py could no results but at any rate all worked well before brad, so happy with location.
yellow, I have just set, while posting, the python script location in the user prefs. but no change to problem

Patrick

Nah, the .b.blend is just your prefs file. At this point I couldn’t tell you more about your situation without seeing the machine… sorry.
