which is better with blender and the gimp???

redhat linux, or suse?

Gimp works just fine on both, but I never got the dynamic version of Blender to work on redHat. And screwed up Xwin trying to install the Nvidia drivers.

Windows. Sorry wrong answer. Couldn’t resist a little joke.
Paradox

Actually, that is what is working best for me right now.

Well, I use SuSE 8.0 for my projects and both Blender and Gimp seem to be working fine, not that I don’t think that RedHat is an excellent distro too…

my 2 cents…

Spyros.

If you look hard enough, there’s a GIMP for windoze too

BTDT. I use Gimp for windows for many things.

i want the latest version, not some crappy port with many o’ bugs.

i also have a geforce2 ti video card so keep that in mind…

redhat8.0 is excellent. everything running fine, and you can even compile the latests of gimp (with gtk2) …

i dont understand what others are saying, but nvidia drivers work 100%, I had no trboules on getting them, compiling and installing. also, blender dynamic works… and the stuff people are compiling from current blender cvs…

there is also a lot of graphics stuff available as rh8 rpms… if you want that.

oh, and last but not least, it has that nifty looking shadowman-logo!! suse has horrible green lizard. eeww.
