Hello, I want to make a 3d props pack to sell on the marketplace (cgtrader, sketchfab, unity assets store, etc.) How can I know which packs are selling more? How can I do research? I searched and there were not many props packs.

Probably has not changed too much, I would also take into account the competition.
For example there are many tree collections some very popular and as addons, so if you do trees there will be a lot of competition.
Other more “niche” collections may have less customers but also less competition.
Also quality, if you make really good packs they will have more chance of selling.

You could start by asking yourself can I make a better “trash”, “urban” etc pack than the ones already on sale (or at least on par).
If the answer is yes go ahead you will probably get some sales.
I can not really recommend a specific category for me 3d is a hobby, for general reference look at what people want them for.
3d enthusiasts make lots of Urban, Trash, Space, Sci fi things etc.
Architects use loads of furniture, house plants and props.
I recommend you just try it out and see how it goes, you will loose nothing except time.

If you’re making to sell, you’re doomed to disappointment. Someone else will always do the same thing cheaper, and the 3D markets are heavily over saturated. Especially now that AI can make mediocre models, you’re in a race to the bottom. Just make what you like making and sell it as a side benefit
