Whimsical Cubes and Snowflake

Just playing around with the new meta shapes and radiosity with a decimation or two, and a dash of alt S ( just a dash mind you )

I like the look of the second one. Nice

Snowflakes - I don’t like yours for one reason - it’s octagonal, not hexagonal. The way that water molecules join together in ice prevents them from forming octagons (the bond angle is wrong) - otherwise it’s cool (pun intended), just fiddle with it a bit to drop it to hexagonal.

What you have made is a technically a ‘dendrite’ (snowflakes form differently at different temperatures… the colder it gets the less intricate, basically)

Chemistry of snowflakes:

Similar but with sample pictures of the different snowflake shapes:

I like the funky cubes though

I’m pretty sure that the snowflake wasn’t meant to be perfect. And to us less skientific (yes, that’s a K) people, it’s a snowflake. I dunno which I like better, probably the snowflake…

I like the snowflake.
