Who can port blender games to the Iphone? Lets get rich!!!!

I can make some really good games with blender 2.49. Anyone know how to port them to the Iphone? Here are some of my talents: http://www.youtube.com/user/goshfather/videos

I know they arent Iphone games, but I can make one in like 3 hours…lol.

Currrently you can not easily port

lol cool if you could though.

Sure. But the blender foundation is working on an android port of the blender player. I dont know about any plans to port it to iOS so you have to make the game using another engine which supports iOS (I think Unity does)

just use a different engine and export the .blends to a different format such as .3ds or .obj

For example you can use Unity3d or another alternative for blender game engine

gamekit does this doesnt it? thats what its ment for but ive never tried it.

I’ve tried to use gamekit but there isn’t much to do. No multitouch and it has a lot of bugs. It can’t use the full extent of the actual blender game engine. Other than that though yeah you could use the gamekit… just keep the app simple. Also, if you just wanna use gamekit for windows or mac or whatever, USE IT for the stencil shadows that are effected by any (well i haven’t tried area light yet) light source.

NinjAcademy

does it cost anything to be a android dev cause i think for ios is like 90 bucks a month or something like that.

It is 99$ per year for iOS:
https://developer.apple.com/programs/ios/
(additionally a 30% commission per app sale goes to apple

For Android it is 25$ (one time registration fee):

Just a theory of mine:

I hear that Windows 8 will be fully universaly compatable with both phones and computers. So my thought is, there will be virtually no extra work for making a game on a windows 8 phone. Any thoughts?

Windows 8 is not good for making games. Also you would need maybe xna or antoher solution for directx. But games for windows 7 should also run on windows 8

easier to use a crossplatform method, IE: flash or java or javascript, eww I know. but the other alternative is submitting to the terms of use for apple, which is shrouded in political correctness, but you could also use an existing app on the iphone, for example there is no doubt a simple 3d rendering engine already running and preloaded on the iphone for 3d rendering, and simple logic if you can get in touch with these developer’s you may use there engines already “app’d” quote un quote and avoid the iOs registration process all together.

That’s right but I’d like to add that there’s 20% commission on the Play Store (Google also likes to make money :D). But that’s still much more friendly than the 99$+30% fees of Apple.

If think the title of the thread is interesting… ok BGE doesn’t have Unreal Engine 4 graphics but for mobile/tablet development it is largely sufficient, and there’s a lot of money to make (when you see some 2D games having 1 million or more download each at 1$, there isn’t so much calculus to do to estimate the amount of money they earned…)

And as GoshFather said, we can do Games rather quickly. So if Blender could export easily to Android (and IOS), well making game for mobile would no more required huge coding skill or huge money (to pay game engine license).
And it could be a source of revenue for the Blender Foundation because I’m sure that if a commercial & popular game was made with Blender, the developer would give some money back to the Blender community to say thanks  (I’m maybe too optimistic on that point, but that’s what I’d do if I was making money with a Blender Developed game).

Today, mobile game developement is the only area were BGE can become more interesting than more heavy expensive game engine (because we don’t have to have the latest cutting edge graphics technologies.)

Maratis is a free game engine which can export to iOS. It can read models, textures, armature, and (armature) animations from blender. But i’d never really dig into that engine before, so i can’t tell you much. The engine is still young, so it has certain limitations. You might want to see it your self on their website.

You can make games for the iPhone in Unity. However, you need to re-make the game in order for it to be an actual game in Unity.

But you have to buy a license of 1500$(pro)+400$(android)+400$(iphone). If you’re not sure your game will sell well on the app store, it’s maybe not worth it (for commercial games).
