Not really.
The options are still the same, that is, to create the wanted effect in-camera.
I use Photographer, which comes with the necessary settings to customize the bokeh, though I still think a native integration would be great. Something like Octane:
That said, Photographer for me is the way to go, even if sometimes I run into a couple of issues.
One is the Optical Vignetting object that can hide everything in the viewport:
The other issue I’ve had a couple of times is that, due to the Optical Vignetting mesh, I wasn’t able to select what I needed with the Cryptomatte.
Still, those are two very minor hiccups, Photographer is a must-have add-on.
You can even create your own bokeh textures and add them to Photographer.
