Why is the final rendered shadow so uglier than the render preview (Blender 4.1)?

Hi!

I’ve a problem with the difference between preview (nice) and final rendering and contact shadows (ugly).
In the preview in EEVEE the shadow looks nice:

But the final rendering produce a … What ever it is …

I have no idea. Can someone help me?

Thanks! :grinning:

Random guess here, it would be helpful if you shared more information on how you are getting the shadows.
Are you by any chance using subdivision and do you have viewport subdivision levels turned up but not the render subdivision levels?

Thats the solution!! I have used the Rock Generator of blender. There are a lot of modifiers, on the top the list are two subsurface-Mods. I thought, they are all applied after generation. My mistake.

I’ve apply the one second modifier and the problem is gone. :sunglasses:
