Why's my model dark blue?

just opened a model i was working on last year in the new Blender 2.68 : in edit, the model’s showing up a dark royal blue instead of the normal grey it appear in Object mode. what’s happened? other objects that are part of the scene show correctly unless i switch to them and then when i move to Edit they turn blue as well.

TIA

Why haven’t you supplied screenshots and blend files ?

Have you enabled Mesh Analysis in properties panel ?

I think you might have accidentally entered Weight paint mode (this happens if you hold Ctrl while pressing Tab to enter edit mode). Manually going back to object mode or pressing Ctrl + Tab should fix the problem in that case.

You are perhaps in weight paint mode and not edit mode, because you are trying to tab into it?

(edit) … and Morio breaks the ribbon just ahead of the rest of the field for the gold! What a finish!

It’s also possible to show weights in edit mode, perhaps that option is on for some reason. Properties panel (N) -> mesh display -> overlays: show weights

i tought this mesh analysis was an addon ?
where do you find it in which panel?

possible that the world is blue

happy blendering

that’s the culprit! much obliged JA12

You may have ON the “face orientation” in Overlays menu:

I think you may have overlooked the fact that you’re replying to a 10-year-old topic

Time flies by

It does! Like a rabid capibara.

So?? The answers here did not help me at all, and the question still is relevant…

May you share that model?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to have the solution to such a problem documented in a post like yours :grinning: It just looked to me like you thought you helped out wolfie138 but I’m sure that user tackled the problem long ago or gave up. Anyway, no offense intended.
