Wierd Blocky Deform while bending over.

I thought I’d try to model and animate something that wasn’t too complex but not too simple. So I found a picture of this little guy and decided to model him in blender 2.65.




If you look near the hips a little blocky pattern forms whenever I try to have it bend over. the second picture is just a look at the rig itself. Any thoughts on what could be causing this odd deformation?

You might want to go into weight paint mode and blur out the weights for the spine, also that bone on the base of the spine seems really bent (your character might need a good chiropracter… :wink: try straightening that bone out as well, it should be straight vertical when the character is standingu up.

Also if you have subdivision on the mesh, apply it after the armature deformation modifier.
