WIP animation of an actual play Pathfinder game

Hello all. Looking for some constructive feedback for ways to improve this test animation of a recording during our Pathfinder campaign.

I don’t have control over the audio (it’s an actual play game online) :frowning:

How is the camera movement? Aesthetic? Character movement/mouth animations? Is the subject who is speaking obvious? How’s the sound composition ie. background music, voice volume, etc.?

Thank you for watching, and I appreciate your feedback.

I think the main thing distracting me is the camera focus. It’s a bit too intense in some areas. I feel like we never get a good look at the background or the characters who speak less.

If you want to emphasize the person speaking without focus you could have the one talking be the most emotive while everyone else is mostly still and reacting- as modern cartoons do. You could also set up the shot to where the speaker is the most well-lit and interesting thing on screen. But of course, once you feel the audience has a good grasp on the voices you can just play around with having other characters react without them on screen (also saves time lipsyncing ;))

In general, I’d just play around with making the camera work more intimate. Maybe some classic movie type shots. It could do a lot to make this feel chummy and fun- assuming that’s what you’re going for ofc
