Just a reminder: The best version of this addon is the 0.09 and it works , most succesfully, with Blender’s 2.79 version.
Btw, I put below the link to a tutorial I have made some years ago about some modelling ways that someone can follow through the abilities which the addon offers (there are some other related tutorials too in my Youtube channel):
Hello!
Do I understand correctly that when using the Exact boolean solver, the vertex attribute values are lost? Can anyone confirm or deny this information?
Just wanna say I recently downloaded 2.79b just to use this add-on, it works PERFECTLY in 2.79b and it is truly remarkable in its workable form.
This add-on is WONDERFUL
If only the A.I. can completely rewrite it for Blender 4.2.2 ;p
Well, yes, 2.79 have lots of technical enhancements which was lost during 2.8 transition which was focused mostly at compositional part.
Our studio use 2.79 for the entire technical part of a work, and something from 2.8+ for compositional part (taking into account that we proposed and prototyped nodebased modeling approach a decade ago)
There are ways to delete all inner points, making something watertight. The way I do it is through setting the Boolean modifier to ‘Collection’ and selecting no Collection. Not sure if this method is available to GN at all, but I hope so! There are also several GN curve setups that attempt (quite succesfully!) to guarantee even thickness and the correct angle for corners, which might help too.
here’s a thread discussing a possible (but unimplemented) node, where several of these existing solutions get posted too: https://devtalk.blender.org/t/curve-to-mesh-node-even-thickness-feedback-thread
