Hey everyone,
I just finished blocking + a first pass on lip-sync on this dialogue shot. Honestly it screams so biginner to me.
The lips themselves don’t seem too bad to me. At some points, the corners of the mouth seem to lift upward suddenly and that doesn’t look like what I would expect from lip sync, but it’s the main issue.
I think the weirdness might be due to the pose and especially the eyes, rather than the lip sync.

At the beginning, she spends a long time with eyes fixated in a random direction without blinking, which would land on the floor or maybe the feet of the other character off screen. Maybe it would work better if this was held for a shorter time, then give a quick glance in a different direction to the side before bringing the eyes up?

At the end, you end with a stare right into the camera. This isn’t an animation problem, but rather an acting problem. You have created an accurate animation of a bad actor by doing this.
I am noting that I need to work on my acting
I agree with @etn249.
I think face orientation, mouth corner (maybe because of face orientation) is a problem. ![]()
And the audio also interferes with your concentration.
There is noise in the audio and the tone is a little awkward.
I modified the audio a little bit, so compare it. ![]()
