I started modeling this in early February, beginning with the shoe itself as a hand-made topology exercise only. Real life high-heels this model is based on are my wife’s
Then at the end of the February I started considering making a hand to match the shoes, the design of the hand is based on various sci-fi renderings I found around the net and the overall mood of the final scene inspired a little by TRON: Legacy.
Wires connecting the wrist are rigged using hooks and armatures, here is the speed-rigging video I recorded at the end of the process:
The video was put together in Blender VSE naturally
One piece of constructive criticism though is that I think you should really try reworking the composition. Currently it doesn’t do justice to all your beautiful work. It appears uninteresting, IMHO, and almost orthographic, I find your test renders to be more compelling because we’re able to see the beautiful design and form of the robotics/hand. I’d love to see more:)
off to watch your speed rigging video… thanks for sharing.
You are absolutely right, in the final image focus is on the shoe and the hand is just a support, a background object (except for the red thumbnail maybe). It is shown this way on purpose, as not to overwhelm the shoe, as it was meant to be a “high-fashion ad for robots” Vogue style, trying to ignite in them a desire to own those glowing high heels
I plan on working on the matching robot-girl face in the future and maybe then I will place the hand in a more pronounced position as an important compositional element by itself. Thanks for the helpful comment, I really appreciate that.
cool i love the new ides but one thing i didnt like her it,s just my opinion
