Hello, apologies if this task is very basic and annoying to see but I am just super excited to try and make my own shoes.
I need help shaving the top off of these crocs and having the object smoothed out at the cut edge, keeping the sole.

Several different choices for how to do this, but perhaps the simplest would be to use Sculpt mode:
Box_Trim tool will chop off a rectangular area.
Smooth tool will let you smooth the resulting cut.
You may need to either Remesh between Box_Trim & Smooth, or have Dyntopo turned on. (one or the other).
