Yamaha Pacifica

Deeply inspired by the fantastic lighting work of johnnovak Metal Guitar - Modeling / Lighting Study - Artwork / Finished Projects - Blender Artists Community I challanged myself by trying to put my old YAMAHA Pacifica from 2000 on the virtual stage  I’m very satisfied with the model but a little dissappointed referring to the lighting (in comparison).

Much of the modelling was done in MoI (Moment of Inspiration). The body and the “neck” were made in blender.
I had to take appart the whole guitar to the last lillte skrew to measure and model it correctly.

The curly maple texture on the body is all procedural consisting of different wave and noise textures. The “normal” wood is a very good procedural shader I bought on blendermaket.

I hope you like it and im allways interested on feedback

The Yamaha looks great - even greater I think if it was in another enviroment like on a wall or something. I think the black space around it make it look a little “cartoon”. Otherwise - great job!

Thank you!
I agree with you referring to the environment but the clean background was even the challange. I wanted to try to get it pritty just through the lighting.
When I look at it now it seems to me as if more high lights would have made it less cartoonish!?

Great job, looks really good. Lots of effort has gone into the modelling and it has certainly paid off. 1 obvious thing though. That seam in the texture by the bridge, did you put a seam there? Or did you not unwrap it properly? It stands out like a sore thumb. Seems such a shame to have this spoil all that hard work, as everything else is wonderful.

Very nice work. How do u make this half rendered half clay picture.

When you’re talking about the seem that’s exactly in the middle of the upper side of the body!?
It’s there on purpose, the curly maple wood cover consists of two parts

That’s simple:
I made a viewport render with wireframe mode activated and photoshopped it together with the rendered image :-

Ya I was on about this. I see some images of this guitar that is made up of what looks like 3 parts also, for the body. So forgive me if this was your intention to replicate the separate parts on your own Yamaha. I hope you put it back together and have a good jam with it.

I think the Yama will look much better if it interacting with other objects like in the real world - Im sure it will look more “real” and it will ad that grumph to it all.
