Hey everyone. Been a while. The evolution of Blender has been amazing. The community is producing incredible work.
So. After watching B5 recently, I’ve gone full fanboy mode. Amazing series, fantastic writing. I’ve begun to work on a Starfury model for fanart. Here’s my first progress shot – I’m very early in the process, but if you spot anything sketchy, I’m all ears.
Finished all three thruster types, so the lower wings will be done much faster. (Not its final look. I just thought it looked nice in that chrome matcap.)
(Sorry I’ve taken so long to reply. It’s been busy.)
It was an experiment and I’m sort of cheating. At some points in the stack, I copy and apply all, edit by hand as needed, then use a geo node that just uses that “savepoint” as a result. It’s a limited approach – at some point, you just have to do destructive editing.
Working on the apparatus to affix the tine to the thruster. The purple thing is a cutout section of said thruster, of course, which so far was done with arrays.
