Hi guys just something I’m busy with at the moment
At First the idea was to get a nearly finished product before i posted anything…and it dawned on me that that way of thinking is pointless. “Unfortunately” for me Sasha remains unfinished to my dismay there were too many areas that needed improvement so i decided to start anew.“yet again” but this time I will Finish!
I would be losing on much needed C&C
well have a look and let me know
To give any constructive critics it would be nice to know what you are aiming at, without that I would say it is nice, but if you aim for realistic the neck seems a bit to long. But its unfair to poke at anything before you tell your goal?.
Spontaneous it’s a bit like “Joan of Arc” approach, nothing bad with that but if you intend to animate it later the foot/leg is a bit stretched from a neutral pose.
Would you like to share a wire frame of your mesh from some different angles? I know it’s like posing nude since it will show how you thought and that isn’t always an all pleasure experience
You were right about the Nose… it became apparent in the close up render so i tweaked it a bit but made it overall wider with good results"and not plastic surgery gone bad:evilgrin:

You have A good eye and a great memory The Joan Of Arc Tutorial was how i learned to model a human…also due to the fact that i cant draw very well and i dont even have a scanner in which to transfer those drawings so i use what i can get and the JOA Template was one of those…it has good proportions but i tweak those “a bit”
As for my Goal well I’m not aiming for full realism, It must still looked “animated” i want to use procedural textures instead of painted ones but if they are needed there will be a minimal amount.“bump and spe maps for the face etc. But the proportions must be correct. no animation just still poses"not so good with IPO Drivers ATM but all in time” following what you said i did shorten the neck it was a bit long:D and here are some wires for you " as you will see the modeling style is like that of the tutorial “thats how i was schooled” but if you know of any other good modeling tutorials let me know

Just for you I added some eyes for to see out of details will come in later
the nose still looks funny, because the part where the nostrils are is narrower than the part between the eyes, and it should be a bit wider than the part between the eyes.
To me I think the ear could go a little lower. Typically it spans from the corner of the eye to the bottom of the nose. Doesn’t look too bad in your front view but the 3/4 view makes it look really high. Also you could rotate her torso back a little. So overall the body has a slight curve.
The dome looks to tall. Faces are usually a 50/50 split from chin to eyes and eyes to top of the head (with hair). There isn’t any hair and the scalp to eye distance is larger than the eye to chin distance.
i had a look at some images of peoples noses to get an idea and iv adjusted accordingly…starting to look normal i might raise the part where the top of the nostrils and the bulbous part of the nose meet along its “ridge” to make it bigger."still thinking about it…the aim is for a small button nose. thanks for pointing that out

i missed that  i had a look and it seems the actual part where i have joined the ear to the head was to high so iv moved the verts down a bit and gave the edges a crease of about 0.5 which seems to have solved the problem.
Sorry for the small image but see how the torso is angled up and back from the belly button and the pelvis angles down and back. That is what I was referring to.
After i adjusted the head and rotated the back a little …It seems that something was off…i couldn’t put my finger on it so i started looking at random heads and i fount that the eyes were too far back so i moved them forward a bit and that the overall head was a bit too wide so i scaled it down a bit with good results, but there was something still bothering me…so i searched some more for "body Proportions and found a tutorial on how to gauge the body with the “8 head” rule so i tried it and found that according to this guy/girl that i was waaaay off so i preceded to fix the problem with …not so good results something is STILL wrong :spin:
The Areas that i think that need work are
the Breasts - they seem a bit too high -
Waist - i think the belly button needs to be moved down while still keeping the same distance to the crotch
arms need to be fleshed out a bit
and im also thinking the chest area “by he Sternum” needs to be wider in the side viewbut before i destroy everything…
Have a Look and give me your thoughts
Linuxpimp21 : i had a look a your picture and i tried to shape teh body like you proposed…
looks better thanks
alot of other changes were made I’ve elongated the body a bit, and in doing so I had to make the hips a bit wider so far so good:D i have also added some extra detail knee joints and collar bone etc…
i know the head looks a bit weird but once she has hair that will be corrected.
C&C Please. i want to get finished with step so i can move on
here are some nice renders
If you want to go for a more anime look than don’t follow the 8 head rule or the typical division of the face those proportions are for realistic drawing only. when you try and go for an anime flavor the legs are drawn longer than normal, the waist is smaller.on the face the size of the eyes are exaggerated and the placement of the features doesn’t much those of a realistic face. Your character has a half realism half anime thing going on which breaks a golden rule of composition, that been dominance, either go for a more realistic character or a more anime character with dominance there is unity and the parts will hold better together.
Thanks for the input Tyrant monkey
i understand the fact that anime/manga characters have very exaggerated features very well…and my aim has now shifted toward realism. Ialso understand what you say when you tald about “dominance” in a character,i think the biggest issue here is the eyes, a tad bit to big for human features ^^ i have, however, scaled them down a bit as you will see in the next update, i also think the problem will correct its self once iv added eyelashes.
im still not very good at modeling "always relying on damn tutorials and i don’t get enough time to practice.“and im working at snails pace but enough moaning
mini update soon” real mini
Pity that you are going for realism. IMHO you nailed the anime body its just the more realistic face that didn’t fit if you pushed for a more anime look on the face it could work in your favour but this is your decision and I think you can pull it off which ever direction you go in. I will keep an eye out for your update i like what is there already good luck.
