Zrush to maya 2009

anyone know how to make displacements from zbrush work in maya 2009? I’ve done a few tuts and none give me anything but a bulbous thing-that-was-my-head-up-until-a-few-seconds-ago mesh. I’ve even converted the tiffs to .maps. Anyone offer any advice?
