YES! I LOVE THIS!
So natural looking! Great work, congratulations!
I love it.
Why did you make only such a short animation ?
That little critter I want to touch it
This is fantastic work
Can I keep him… pleaseeeee
Nice work, that’s really cool!
Great job ! That is fantastic
I’m planning to make a Dinosaur…
Can I ask…
What was your workflow ?
Did you sculpt
Retopo
Multires
?
Or sculpt
Retopo
Bake texture from Hi-rez version
…Should I use multirez or just retopo and bake my texture after ?
Thx a lot !
Thanks for the feedback! I really enjoyed doing the retopology during this project.
YAY! So glad you like it! ![]()
Thank you! ![]()
I’m so glad!
Haha, I was too impatient! I did the animation late at night and wanted to see it rendered the next day. Hopefully I’ll get around to making something longer.
I feel the same! I wish he were real! I’m getting really attached to him. ![]()
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it. ![]()
I don’t know, I’ve gotten really attached to the little guy. I’ll let you know when I breed some more. ![]()
Thanks! Really glad you appreciate it! ![]()
Hi! Thanks for your interest and appreciation.
I did a combo of the two workflows you described. I did the sculpt, retopologized it, added a multiresolution modifier with 4 subdivisions, applied a shrinkwrap modifier to get the displacement onto the multiresolution, and then I baked the normals from the sculpt onto the multires. I found that I wasn’t getting as much detail as I wanted without the combo of multires and a baked normal map.
Thx a lot !
Very nice work, it should be in the artstation trending.
How did you make this big skin fold in the root of the leg? I have issues every time creating those, especially for retopo.
Of course! Good luck on your dinosaur! I’d love to see it when you’re done!
Thanks man! I don’t think that’ll ever happen… I’d have to pay for a pro membership.
I made heavy use of the inflate brush and used the remesher to correct mesh intersection caused by the inflate brush. When retopo came along, it was pretty easy to get into the cracks because the remesher eliminated any super tight cracks or intersection.
But how did you bake insides of this skin fold? I had the similar structure and I almost died baking it.
Hmmm… Honestly I don’t think I’m experienced enough to say, but maybe it’s because I baked my textures onto higher multires levels? Both meshes were incredibly close together. I remember I had to set the ray distance to something really low. Sorry I don’t have any definitive answers. A lot of this stuff is very new to me. ![]()
Hi Francis,
Welcome to the community!
We can discuss the workflow as well.

Keep Blending!
Cheers!

It feels so alive! Great achievement!
Sure thing, done!
Thanks man, I never imagined my work will inspire others, but that’s really nice to hear! Thanks!
Excellent, love to see a walk cycle.
WOW!!! So cool! Very realistic. I would really like to see a longer animation!
Thanks to you both! I’m glad to hear that people want to see more!
I definitely would like to work on some more animation once I have some more free time.
