Here’s my attempt at shading the Amilcar in Cycles.
Overall I must say that working on this heavish model (over 2,7 mln vertices) was much, much smoother and more pleasant in Blender 2.93 / Cycles than in C4D / Corona which I tried previously.
Quality wise, I feel like I could use some training in lighting to achieve more satisfying results. Nevertheless I am enjoying this project a lot.
The car, as well as the era it comes from, grew in my eyes incredibly as a result of spending time with this project and discovering some historical background. On the flip side, it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to become astonished by contemporary automotive creations…
I’m astonished. I love the real car and I love your model as well. Stunning. Well done. Makes me want to emulate you and give up on Blender in equal meassure as I’m so far behind. Reflections in the chromework, and its texture, are spot on.
