Basically its the only feature which i really need from decal machine, so maybe there’s some free addons with similar function?
Bool tool that comes with blender has a slice function. With its own hot key combo…

Those methods though, as far as I am aware, don’t cater for the parallax the way DM does, to fake geometry, but just applying what you’d call “info” decals in DM.
For me its doesnt matter at all, as any other features related to material, etc. Im basically only need a part which create the strip on intersecting geo w/wo normal transfer.
If you just want Slice then you could try Carver…
