You can use the displacement modifier. It will give you a nice level of control. Also if you want specific wrinklew here and there, you can paint the details as you need.
So basically: create an image (or take it from anywhere you like and yas wrinkles), use the displacement modifier on your mesh (load your image as texture for that displacement). You can also use vertex groups (create those in edit mode) so you can apply several displacements with specific strengths wherever needed.
