April in Rio (Animated Poster)

It has been a blast bending Blender into matching the style of my 2D illustrations. No Photoshop, Illustrator, bitmap textures or post-processing involved here.

Animated version on the first reply to this topic!

Everything viewport Eevee, 2 samples =!

Very cool! I would have never guessed that the poster was made in Blender – I sure hope that Blender Nation might ask you to do a breakdown of how you did this.

wow I couldn’t even tell this was 3D, I would love to see some of your illustrations too as a comparison!

Hey, glad you like this, Pir! I had fun making it =)

I’m guessing a Behind the Scenes for this would be very short, something in the “simple shapes, strong colours” vein. And for that airbrushed picture book look, lots and lots of Ambient Occlusion nodes, dancing everywhere with their Colorramp partners.

came back to look at this some more, its so great!
I am still learning how to set up the shaders in Blender and have made a few fun ones, now I wish to learn how to make this airbrush look  wish me luck!

Interesting usage of 3D… thank you to widen my horizon… would never thought of this myself…

I used to get that kind of look from Adobe Illustrator, but that workflow had all the limitations of 2D (and of Adobe!.) Blender has widened my horizon!

Care to share your stipple/ gradient noise shader setup?

It really looks nothing like a 3D scene, great work!

I really love the style of these type of travel marketing images. You absolutely nailed it in 3D. Quiet a joy to see animated as well!
